Introduction
IIM offer their state-of-the-art
Rudder-70 series
Electronic
Batching System, ideally suited for batching operations
associated with all process industries, especially Animal Feed
plants. This System is designed to be highly user-friendly, with
its Windows based GUI software and aesthetically designed
Control Panel.
The System Configuration is briefly described below:
System configuration
The Electronic Batching System consists of the following:
2.1. Computer and Printer
2.2. Central Control Station (CCS)
A section-wise description is given below:
Computer:
The computer is used to carry out the batching in auto mode. The
plant Mimic in the Computer Screen shows the status of the
Batching Section. A brief description of facilities available
through various menus are given below:
Recipes:
|
Create, modify, delete or print recipes. The recipes
can be entered inside pendent of the bin contents. |
Batch Execution: |
Select recipe for batching, set number of batches
required and monitor operation of Batching System. |
Material Management:
|
Add/remove materials and their codes, modify bin
contents and quantity of material in each bin. |
Plant Parameters:
|
Run time parameters like delays for transportation,
mixing, between bins and batches can be set and
modified. |
Diagnosis:
|
Trouble shooting option for testing individual
system components. |
User Management:
|
Definition of user names, their IDs, and the various
levels of access for users. |
Reports:
|
View and Print various reports on plant operations. |
Shift Settings:
|
Set/Modify the shifts settings for plant operations. |
The above listed menus are available to the user according to
the definition of user rights as specified by the supervisor in
the user definition menu, thus preventing unwarranted access to
the options. The Computer displays the mimic of plant status in
Auto mode. The plant operations are continuously monitored, and
any alarm condition is brought to operator attention through
audio-visual alarms.
The Computer can monitor and acquire data, in addition to the
batching section, from various data terminals like energy
meters, pellet temperature indicator and molasses consumption
through addition of required signal processing interface
modules.
Central Control Station (CCS)
The CCS is a floor mounting stand-alone console from where the
operation of the plant is monitored and controlled in Auto mode
in conjunction with the computer. The panel houses the
following:
2.2.1. PLC
2.2.2. Digital Indicator for Batch Hopper
2.2.3. Input Interface circuitry, Control and Power circuitry
for bin dischargers and batch
Hopper gate.
PLC
The PLC controls the batch operation according to the control
logic resident in it. It accepts the plant conditions as its
inputs, and gives the Control Outputs as per the Control Logic
and operation parameters specified by the operator from the
Computer.
Digital Indicator
This microprocessor based signal processor gives a bright
7-segment LED readout of the quantity of material in the Batch
Hopper as sensed by the loadcells. It is a field-programmable
device, which gives the weight information to the Computer for
controlling the Batching operations.
Electrical Control and Power Circuitry
The Electrical Control and power circuitry are provided with the
interlocks necessary in the system. It includes an MCCB, MCB,
Contactors and Overload relays. In addition, there are Plant
Interface Circuitry for interfacing the plant status for the
PLC.
Reports
The System has an extensive report generation capability, which
gives reports for all the activities of the Batching Section in
an easily understandable tabulated format. The reports available
are indicated below:
